Flat Bead Frame

A wood frame containing nine columns of golden beads for numbers from single units to 100,000,000. Designed to be used laid flat on a surface.

The Flat Bead Frame activities are the final step in the passage to abstraction with multiplication. It extends the work introduced by the Small Bead Frame and the Large Bead Frame by introducing larger numbers up to the hundreds of millions.

Frame dimensions: 32 cm x 20 cm (about 12.5 in x 8 in).

Recommended ages: 6–10 years.
